Living in nairobi, how can one miss out on the very healthy Tradional Food thats Ugali and Sukuma wiki. We never miss having this on Weekends, a very very healthy diet. I actually asked my house help to show me how its done their way, so here is the recipeee ๐
For the Ugali – Ingredients
- 2 cups Maize Flour/ Maize meal that is not very smooth
- 3 cups water
- Salt is optional
- Served with Blueband hahaFor the Sukuma/ Kale
- 1 bunch sukuma chopped
- 1 bunch Spinach Chopped
- 2 to three tomatoes
- Salt to taste
Method:- In a pan heat oil and add tomatoes, once the tomatoes cook add the washed chopped greens and mix well, let the greens release its own water. Once they shrink add salt and mix well. Let it cook for 10 minutes ๐
I usually mix kale and spinach, it actually tastes better.
For the Butternut Mix
- 1 cup chopped butternut
- 2 chopped tomatoes
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp tumeric
- 1/2 tsp Dhanajeera
- 1/4 tsp Garam Masala for the Indian touch
